Challenge
LegalZoom operated multiple business units with fragmented data and inconsistent visibility. Marketing, product, and finance teams each ran their own analytics, producing numbers that did not reconcile. Leadership needed one source of truth across the BUs.
Approach
Built a multi-BU data warehouse with pipelines feeding from product, marketing, sales, and finance systems. Designed schema and fact/dimension models aligned to the analytical questions leadership was actually asking. Layered a Tableau visualization layer optimized for both executive scorecards and grain-level drill-down. Ran enablement to drive adoption from execs to department leads.
Outcome
Company-wide adoption of the dashboards as the operating cadence. Marketing teams gained customer segment and time-to-cross-sell views. Product teams used dashboards to optimize service offerings. CAC was optimized via campaign-level cohort and LTV understanding. The platform continues to extend as new BUs and new questions come on.
